A California Department of Justice Background Check is an official report that provides a person’s criminal history record as maintained by the California DOJ. It is commonly used for employment, licensing, immigration, and personal review purposes. The process requires fingerprinting through Live Scan to match records in the state’s criminal database. The resulting report shows arrests, charges, dispositions, and other relevant legal data specific to California.
If the CA DOJ background check needs to be apostilled: it must be a certified copy suitable for authentication. Please remember to check the CA background check to see if it is the certified copy signed by Rob Bonta. If not, please proceed with emailing visa-immigration@doj.ca.gov to request the certified copy right away, as that can take time.
